Attached are some photos of our surf camp experience dated the first week of July 2009. The kids had a great time and were up on their boards within the first hour! Andrew and the assistant instructors were awesome with the kids. They were really instructive, attentive, encouraging, pushed the kids when they needed it, and let them just play around when they needed a break. It was a really super experience and the kids and I have and will continue to recommend your surf camp.--Cynthia

I cannot thank you enough for the lessons this past June 17th and 18th! I was thinking about you and surfing today, your ears must have been burning. See – you even got me learning Hawaiian! I never thought someone my age could be bit by the surfing bug so much: I have you to thank. I've had a serious attack of 'life' and have been overly busy.I was so impressed with your second lesson plus the favor of giving me an extra lesson the next day, that I would not hesitate to contact the local paper there in Ventura, and share with them my testimonial about you and your staff and the wonderful experience I had learning to surf. Aloha, maho nui loa. Darren J. Reale

Just wanted to thank you guys for a great experience! My boys had a surf lesson on 8/4 with Andrew and had a great time. Both were thrilled that they managed to get up on the board. I appreciate Andrew taking the time to teach about the ocean and tides as well as his enthusiastic support of my teenagers in the water. We look forward to returning to Ventura and taking another class or possibly a camp with surfclass. Brenda Mayer Bakersfield, CA

NEXT BEST:
Ventura, California. Close to Rincon, one of California's best point breaks, along with stellar surfing at Emma Wood and Solimar-just far enough from Los Angeles and close enough to Santa Barbara. It's a great place to meet on beautiful uncrowded beaches. There is a great local vibe in the water with everyone sharing the stoke. Ventura hosted the first prize-money surfing contest (in 1965), and it was here that three-time world champ Tom Curren and the "phun hog/tube junkies" Malloy brothers perfected their moves. Ventura's cool old downtown-wedged up against the foothills a few blocks from the Pacific-is packed with eateries, thrift shops, and bookstores.
